PU CET PG (MBA) 2026 Syllabus: Section-Wise Topics  

The 2026 MBA PUCET PG syllabus includes General Awareness, English Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Business Basics, and some components from Class 10-12 and Bachelor’s level. For the GD/PI shortlist, your aim should be 50+ out of 75. Note: PUCET UG syllabus pertains to undergraduate (science) programs, and PG MBA centers on aptitude.  

General Awareness (15 Questions)  

Topics: Current Affairs (national and international events, economy, politics, and sports), Static GK (history, geography, and science), and Punjab-specific knowledge (culture, economy, and schemes).  

Weightage: 20%; Current affairs 60%, Punjab GK 20%.  

Preparation: Read Manorama Yearbook and The Tribune, and complete 15 questions per day. Aim: 10+ correct.  

English Comprehension (15 Questions)  

Topics: Passage comprehension RC (business and social), Grammar (tenses, prepositions, and error correction), Vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms, and idioms), Sentence Correction, and Cloze Test.  

Weightage: 20%; RC 40%, grammar 30%.  

Preparation: Read Wren & Martin for grammar and help Norman Lewis, "Word Power Made Easy". Solve 15 questions per day. Aim: 12+ correct.  

Logical Reasoning (15 Questions)  

Topics: Puzzles, Seating Arrangements, Blood Relations, Coding and Decoding, Syllogisms, Assumptions and Conclusions, Series, Direction Sense, and Logical Connectives.  

Weightage: 20%; Non-verbal reasoning 50%.

Preparation: Complete 15 questions each day from RS Aggarwal "Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning." Focus on puzzles and coding. Aim: 10 or more correct answers.

Quantitative Aptitude (15 Questions)

Topics: Arithmetic (percentages, ratios, profit and loss, time, speed and distance, interest), Algebra (equations, inequalities), Geometry, Data Interpretation (charts and tables), Probability, Number Systems.

Weightage: 20%; 60% from Arithmetic and 20% from Data Interpretation.

Preparation: Complete 15 questions each day from RS Aggarwal "Quantitative Aptitude." Focus on percentages and data interpretation. Aim: 10 or more correct answers.

Business Basics (15 Questions)

Topics: Management Principles (planning, organizing, leadership), Business Ethics, Economy (GDP, inflation, trade), Current Corporate Affairs (companies, mergers)

Weightage: 20%; 50% from business, 30% from economy.

Preparation: Read the Economic Times; for the basics, use Arihant GK. Complete 15 questions each day. Aim: 10 or more correct answers.

Preparation Strategy 

Dedicate 1.5 hours each day: 25% to each section (awareness, English, reasoning, quant, business). Complete the weekly mocks from puchd.ac.in. Answer all questions within the time limit. Pucet UG syllabus differs. Focus on Physics and Chemistry. PG MBA is only aptitude-based. Refer to the Dates tab for the exam schedule; Results tab for cutoffs. Begin 3 months before the scheduled date to achieve a 60+ score.
