Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) is a Category-I deemed university located in Mumbai, offering institutes in Management, Engineering, and Pharmacy, among others. NMIMS has campuses across Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, Indore, and Chandigarh. For pursuing any of these programs, NMIMS opens its gates for students through an entrance exam conducted at the institute and through CET. Ensuring a streamlined process for selection. Does NMIMS accept the CET score? Clarifying which exam is accepted is crucial for learners seeking to pursue an MBA or other programs.
NMIMS's admission process for MBA programs involves:
Registration for the relevant entrance exam (e.g., NMAT by GMAC for MBA).
Submit the admission Application on the NMIMS website (www.nmims.edu) with exam registration details.
The university will shortlist candidates based on their exam scores for the second stage, which includes a Competency Assessment (CA), a Personal Interview (PI), and, for some programs, a Written Analytical Test (WAT).
Final merit list based on exam scores (20% weightage), CA (50%), PI, academic records, and work experience.
Eligibility requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Does NMIMS accept the CAT score? The process varies by program and exam.
Does NMIMS Accept CET Score? CET is acceptable for B. Pharm + MBA (Pharma Tech), B. Tech, MBA Tech, and B. Tech + degrees at the Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Shirpur, Indore, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh campuses for undergraduate and integrated programs. NMIMS-CET is a computer-based test conducted by the university that evaluates Physics, Chemistry, and either Mathematics or Biology. CET exams at the state level, such as MAH-CET or any other standard entrance test, are not considered for admission to MBA programs. The only test accepted here is the NMAT by GMAC.
Does NMIMS accept CAT Scores? Not for the flagship MBA programs – MBA, MBA (HR), MBA (Business Analytics), MBA (Pharmaceutical Management). All of them require the NMAT by GMAC, which has a cutoff of 209 in 2025 for all programs except the MBA in Pharmaceutical Management, which is 190. CAT is allowed only for the Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM), where the minimum requirement is the 85th percentile. Candidates pursuing an MBA should focus on the NMAT.
Does NMIMS accept GMAT scores? Of course, NMIMS considers GMAT scores for MBA admissions, especially for overseas and NRI applicants. Typically, a GMAT score of 600 or above is required, although cutoffs vary from year to year. The GMAT is also accepted for the Ph.D. program, into which candidates scoring 50 percent of the NMIMS entrance test (or those exempt from UGC NET/GATE) qualify for an interview. Applicants with GMAT scores must create an account on the NMIMS website using their GMAT registration number.
In addition to NMIMS-CET, NMAT, and GMAT, NMIMS accepts:
NPAT: For undergraduate programs such as BBA, B.Com (Hons), and B.Sc. (Finance).
CLAT/LSAT/NMIMS-LAT: For law programs such as BA LLB and BBA LLB.
SAT/ACT: For integrated and undergraduate programs like B.Tech and BBA.
XAT/CMAT: For PGCM and some diploma courses with a cut-off of around the 85th- 94th percentile.
